As I have been talking about my new book, FARWELL'S FOLLY, The Rise and Fall of the XIT Ranch in Texas, it occured to me that since so few people are aware of this huge, 3 million acre ranch that the first chapter in the book would give you a hint as to its beginning. One of the first statements in that first chapter entitle The Start of Something Big is:
...For Texans, the struggle is the reward, and the XIT Ranch is a seminal example of making what was considered, by the ignorant and the fearful, 'no man's land,' into a productive ocean of opportunity, and ultimatelty into a paradise for the hale and hearty range lover.
If this whets your appetite for adventure, get the book on Amazon.
