Not long ago a friend, who I have known for a long time but rarely see, came up to me in a restaurant and said, “Dede, let’s write a children’s book.” I answered, “Rod, I’ve written several books, but never a children’s book.”
As a professional artist with a new granddaughter, children’s books were now very important to Rod. When I asked what he wanted to write about, he said “Oh, maybe something about fish.”
Fish? I don’t know much about fish. But I went home and jotted down a few ideas, none of which sounded right. As I stared at my computer, inspiration came to me.
I quickly drafted an outline and the next Sunday when we met for breakfast I said, “How does Henry the Hard Drive and His Friends sound to you?" He snapped. “That’s it. You write and I’ll do the illustrations.” A few weeks later, Henry the Hard Drive was born, along with his new friends. And I fell in love.
Rod and I are pleased to present this new series of picture books for young children. Each book draws your child into the story, while educating him or her about the computer and entertaining through the antics and adventures of delightful and playful characters.
Henry the Hard Drive can’t wait to introduce your child to his friends:
- Monica the Monitor
- Kelly the Keyboard
- Mortimer the Mouse
- and Pete the Printer
Rod and I would like for you to meet them, as well. Click here to learn more.
